How to uninstall Kaspersky Lab products version 6.0

Affected Products:

Information

We'd like to draw your attention to the fact that you can't uninstall Kaspersky Lab's products in Safe Mode.

 

If you want to uninstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations or Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers, do the following: 

  • Uninstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0: go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 > press Change/Remove

 

After it the deinstallation wizard will be displayed that will help you uninstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 Click Next to continue.

Step 1: in the window select the operation you wish to perform: 

  • Modify – allows to delete\install one or more features of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 
  • Repair – fixes missing or corrupt files, shortcuts and registry entries. 
  • Remove – removes Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 completely or partially from your computer.

Click the Remove icon to continue.

Step 2: select the deinstallation variant. 

  • Complete uninstall - choose this variant if you want to fully remove the application and you are not going to use Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 in future. 
  • Save application objects – choose this variant if you want to update the version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0. For it delete old program files and registry entries and then run installation of the new version.

The following objects should be saved:

  • Activation data 
  • Threat database 
  • Anti-Spam database (for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations only) 
  • Backup files (the option is available only if malicious objects were detected and were backed up during previous sessions of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0). 
  • Quarantine files (the option is available only if malicious objects were detected and were quarantined during previous sessions of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0). 
  • Application settings (user settings of the Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 components). 
  • iSwift data (iSwift data to accelerate work of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0)

Choose the necessary option and click Next to continue.

Step 3: in this window you should verify that you are ready to uninstall program files, shortcuts and registry entries

Click Remove to continue.

Step 4: removal of program files, shortcuts and registry entries.

InformationIf some Internet sessions were opened when uninstalling program files, shortcuts and registry entries, an informational window will be displayed offering you to close these sessions. Close your Internet browser and click Retry.

Step 5: once the program files and registry entries are removed the Setup Wizard finish its work. Click OK. Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 is uninstalled.

Step 6: for the configuration changes to be made, restart your PC. Click Yes to restart now, click No to restart later.

Information The dialog of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers are the same but with the corresponding product names.
